| | | | Wilfred Owen was an intelligent, sensitive, literary genius who found himself in a time where intelligence, sensitivity and creativity were of little use. His poetry explores the loss of humanity’s innocence in WW1 and chronicles the frailties and triumphs of the human spirit.
Words of War explores Wilfred Owen’s times, influences and work, focusing on his poems and poetic techniques and looking at his life and the inspirations he drew from.
The performance delves into what made Wilfred Owen tick and why his work remains of such vital importance almost 100 years after his death. It includes dramatisations of his letters home and correspondences with fellow writers, and all 6 of the poems listed on the HSC syllabus.
Poems: The Parable of the Old Man and The Young, Anthem for Doomed Youth, Mental Cases, Dolce Et Decorum Est, Disabled, and Futility.
